Point Reno, Washington DC "State" HP

Me, very excited after finally finding the benchmark.

DC "State" HP

Located in Fort Reno park and a short walk from the Tenleytown metro station, Point Reno (409 ft; 125 m) is the highest point in the District of Columbia. As the name of the park suggests it was once the site of a fort. Ironically, the benchmark is not actually at the highest point in the park because a man made mound was built for what appears to be an inground water reservoir.

It took Ethan and I some time walking in circles around the area to find the monument in the grass. Definitely not the most hype high point, but I did see a pretty funny #OSHA violation situation on the way with a crane who's support leg was looking a little sketchy (see photos below).

Ethan, similarly enthused that our walking in circles in the sun had finally come to its end. See if you can spot the #OSHA violation from afar. A closer look. Yes, all of the front wheels are off the ground with the crane's full weight is on this leg…
